I got an email from Megan Cytron, Editor-at-Large, for Trazzler, some folks with a huge team of writers who write neat stuff about travel, food and other good things in life.
Megan wanted to know about using a photo of Stephenson's Barbecue, for an article in their ongoing series, "Following the North Carolina Barbecue Trail," and of course I said, "Sure!" Stephenson's Barbecue is located just about 20 miles south of Raleigh, and is a great lunch drive through the country from Cary, NC.
Map of Stephenson's Barbecue location.
Anyway, I got a byline that links to my website, and the word was spread on some of the finest North Carolina pulled pork 'cue a feller could want. I mean, I'm just back from gorging on a huge Chicken Caesar Salad, saw the photo of the barbecue plate spread they used, and my mouth is watering. Time for some barbecue in the near future.
Megan did it right. She saw the photo, got permission, and there it is!

Great back link for you!
Hi Mike, Congrats on this great scoop on NC BBQ.. I love NC BBQ, mostly Lexington style but eat about any kind.. I have not been to Stephensons, might have to make a trip "east". God bless,
Mike my daughter has a flickr account and often has people asking her to use her photos. She is a flight attendant flying internationally so has quite the assortment of photos.
I love Flickr too... and barbecue. Great Flickr story Mike. Congrats!
That's awesome :-) It's always a "feel good" moment when you are asked if you will give permission to use something you created.
Winter,
Thanks! Yes, I like the link, and hope they have a lot of traffic.
Cheryl,
Thanks! Stephensons has been there for a LOT of years. They have it down pat.
Marchel,
Flickr is great. It is so simple to use.
Susie,
I bet you DO use it regularly, with all the great photos you shoot.
Kris,
"Feel good" moment is a perfect term. It is such a compliment.
